Edvard Munch's "The Scream" in a Deer Skull

During a walk in the high desert, my dog pointed toward skeletal remains of a deer. The coyotes had left behind a rather intact skull, jaws, and a piece of the sacrolumbar vertebrae.

Since I had already worked on the skull of an elk (https://vaheark.blogspot.com/2018/11/vanitas-veritas-and-use-of-skulls-to.html) I decided to try the deer one which is 1/3 the size of an elk skull.

Here are the pieces I wanted to use -- the skull, possibly the jaws, two squirrel tails, water buffalo horns, the tanned face of a red fox, and turquoise stones.

Of course my dog follows me everywhere and he made sure that his find was treated with care and creativity!

So, after a few tries, the skull was completed and found its place on the wall. The fox's face was not tanned symmetrically, but perhaps thinking about Salvador Dali's attitude, I decided to keep it as is giving the fox a "foxy" look!

But since I had already done a similar work with the elk skull, I wanted the deer skull to have its own character.
And when I looked at it from a certain angle, I realized that if I place the turquoise stones closer to the sinus channels, it will give the proportions of Edvard Munch's "The Scream"!

And that made this work special.
