The Resting and Friendly Totem Pole
The previous posting I have about a totem pole got a lot of
viewers interested. So, here is another
one with distinct differences.
First, the wings are made of hare skin/fur. This gives me
more opportunity to shape the wings as I see the character of the totem pole
come alive.
Second, I wanted a totem pole “at rest”. After all, standing
straight all day long can be tiresome! So, this one is sitting down on a rock,
with the legs (hare legs, of course) crossed.
Third, the faces I drew on the deer vertebrae show the
various reactions one may have, through facial expressions, when seeing a new
person. When a totem pole has many faces, such simultaneous reactions are
allowed…
But, it is a friendly totem pole, as it is waiving hello
with its left wing.
